Description
Aim:
The aim of the course is to meet the mandatory competences and the required knowledge, understanding and proficiencies prescribed in Section A-VI/4, Table A-VI/4-1 of STCW Code.

Objectives:

To meet the minimum standard of competence for all trainees assigned to shipboard duties as required in Section A-VI/4 of the STCW Code as amended, this course is designed to enable the trainees to successfully demonstrate the competence on Medical First Aid.

Specifically, at the end of the course the trainee must be able to apply immediate first aid in the event of accident or illness on board.


Target Audience:
This course is open to all seafarer who are designated to provide medical first aid on board ship.

Prerequisites:

• Basic Training Certificate
• Valid medical certificate (2 years)
• completed online programme (for Practical Training and Assessment)
