Ratings Forming Part of a Navigational Watch ( RFPNW ) (6108)


Description
Aim:

The aim of the course isto meet the mandatory competences and the required knowledge, understanding and proficiencies prescribed in Section A-II/4, Table A-II/4of the STCW Code.


Objectives:

To meet the minimum standard of competence for all trainees assigned to shipboard duties as required in Section A-II/4 of the STCW Code as amended, this course is designed to enable the trainees to successfully demonstrate the competences as Ratings Forming Part of a Navigational Watch.

Specifically, at the end of the course the trainees must be able to:
• steer the ship and also comply with the helm orders in the English language;
• keep a proper look-out by sight and hearing;
• contribute to monitoring and controlling a safe watch; and
• operate emergency equipment and apply emergency procedures.


Target Audience:

This courseis open to all seafarers who intend to be certificated as Ratings Forming Part of a Navigational Watch.


Prerequisites:

• Valid medical certificate (2 years)
• completed online programme(for Practical Training and Assessment)
